The Division of Public & Organizational Health focuses on positive health development in a rapidly changing context of work and organizations.
Health research in the modern workplace (contextualized epidemiology): Based on the job demands-resources health model and the salutogenic model, the division studies the influence of psychosocial working conditions, individual and organizational factors on health, quality of working life, and longterm organizational performance. Current topics include the influence of health-oriented leadership style, team climate, individual job crafting, and work-life boundary management on health.
Intervention and evaluation research in organizations: Based on the organizational health development model, the division develops and tests (IT-based) tools for health-oriented change processes in teams, leaders, and organizations. The corporate health index allows to measure core, generic job demands and job resources across organizations and enables evidence-based improvements of working conditions and health in organizations. The effectiveness regarding health, quality of working life and sustainable performance is evaluated by broad field studies in companies. Research: Work & Health
