From Research to Practice – and Back Again

The EBPI is a leading coordinator of research streams from discovery science to population- and patient-based health research. We actively engage in contextualizing and translating evidence from epidemiological and clinical research to evidence-based medical and public health practice.

At EBPI, we conduct translational research. This means turning scientific findings into practice while also feeding real-world experience back into research. For us, translational research is more than “translation.” We see the EBPI as a connected system in which researchers, healthcare professionals, and the public are in continuous exchange. This allows us to ensure that our work directly informs healthcare, prevention, and health systems - and delivers tangible benefits.

Our work brings together three key areas:
Discovery Science helps us understand what makes people healthy or causes disease.
Building on this, Evaluation Science develops and tests effective prevention and treatment approaches. In Implementation Science, we examine how these approaches work in real-world settings.

What sets us apart:
We not only conduct research, but are also actively involved in implementation. Through our services and close collaboration with practitioners and the public, we create a rare link between research and real-world application - both in Switzerland and internationally.
