Immunological Correlates of COVID-19 Severity

We will systematically investigate clinical and immunological responses in COVID-19 patients. Subsequently, these data will help us identify individuals at risk for severe disease and thus inform clinical decision-making, including the initiation of targeted anti-inflammatory or anti-viral treatments early in disease course. The in-depth understanding generated by our systems immunology approach will be key to understanding the immunopathogenesis of COVID-19. Our data will also be crucial for informing the development of targeted therapies and vaccines against SARS-CoV-2. Lastly, our results will guide future studies aimed at mechanistically characterizing key immunological steps of protective immunity against Coronaviruses.
