Short Biography
Phung Lang co-leads the Immunity and Vaccines research group at the Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Prevention Institute (EBPI), University of Zurich. She leads national efforts to monitor vaccination coverage and population immunity, generating evidence to guide immunization policy and targeted public health interventions.
In partnership with the Federal Office of Public Health and all 26 cantons, she established the Swiss National Vaccination Coverage Survey (SNVCS), Switzerland’s only routine source of childhood vaccination data, which informs national immunization strategies https://reisemedizin.uzh.ch/en/blog/interview_phung_lang
Her work spans vaccine equity, immunization across the life course, healthcare worker behavior, digital transformation, and vaccine hesitancy, using epidemiological and advanced analytical methods. Dr. Lang earned her MPH from the University of Massachusetts and her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Basel.
