Short Biography

Tala Ballouz holds a PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics (2023), a Msc in Public Health (2018), and a Bachelor degree in Medicine and Surgery (2011). Besides her clinical specialty training in internal medicine and infectious diseases (completed in 2017), she has also worked as a research fellow in projects related to hospital epidemiology in the field of infectious diseases, particularly antimicrobial resistance and HIV. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the EBPI, conducting research on the longer-term health effects and immune responses after SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination.
Since 2020, she has been co-coordinating the Zurich SARS-CoV-2 Cohort and the Zurich SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine Cohort studies.
