Publication: Revisiting privacy assumptions in genomic research

A paper by Professor Effy Vayena and her colleague Urs Gasser of the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School was published on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in PLoS Medicine. In the article, the authors argue that technical solutions are insufficient to respond to the challenges posed by promoting the openness necessary for genomic research while striving for genomic privacy. Rather, the authors propose three assumptions that must be re-examined in the current genomic research environment. The full article is available HERE.
