Short Biography

Hongruyu Chen is a PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology at Epidemiology, Biostatistics & Prevention Institute in University of Zurich, under the supervision of Dr. Miquel Serra-Burriel and Prof. Milo Puhan. Her research interests includes causal inference and general biostatistics methodologies for biomedical research. And she also works on the Sinergia project "From single disease reductionist research to informed Machine Learning: A new research paradigm for multimorbidity". Born and grew up in China, she completed a BSc in mathematics and applied mathematics at Beijing Normal University in China and an MSc in data science at ETH Zurich in Switzerland. Her master’s thesis was on domain adaptation under a causal framework supervised by Prof. Nicolai Meinshausen.
