COGEN

The project explored the contribution of gender to short- and long-term outcomes of COVID-19 (including sociodemographic and psychosocial parameters). Short-term outcome will be a composite outcome establishing critical illness, whereas the long-term outcome will be an evaluation of the development of common long-covid symptoms. The gender score established during our study will provide the basis to treat women and men uniquely in many individualized, precision medicine-based approaches in Switzerland. The results of the development and validation of a prediction model for long-covid symptoms has been accepted for publication in BMC Diagnostic and Prognostic Research, a preprint can be found here.
