Short Biography

Dr Nora Monnier is a board certified specialist of Internal Medicine (FMH Allgemeine Innere Medizin) and Tropical Medicine and Travel Medicine and holds a MSc in Tropical Medicine and International Health from LSHTM, a Diploma for Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTMH) from Mahidol University, Bangkok and a Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Zurich. She has 15 years of professional clinical experience including work in low- and middle-income countries and internationally-renowned institutions such as the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Diseases Research (icddr,b) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prior to joining Swiss TPH, she has worked as a consultant in the High Threat Pathogens Unit, Health Emergencies Program at the World Health Organization in Geneva, advising on the guidance of Zika and related flaviviruses laboratory diagnostics. Her expertise includes the epidemiology, clinical management, control and prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases in the context of LMICs. Her work focuses on NTDs and other tropical diseases, applied communicable disease control and implementation research and projects designing clinical decision support tools for strengthening primary health care in settings of conflict and crisis. Her role and responsibilities in the ADOPT program include project planning, M&E, data management and coordination.
