In January 2014, Holger Dressel joined the EBPI as the Division leader for the Occupational and Environmental Medicine, which is jointly based in the EBPI and the University Hospital Zurich outpatient center for internal medicine. PD Dr. med. Dressel earned his medical degree at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich (LMU) in 1999, his MPH at the University of Ulm in 2003 and earned the Privatdozent title in 2013 at LMU. PD Dr. med. Dressel brings expertise in respiratory and allergological aspects of occupational and environmental medicine to the EBPI and already has several teaching and research projects underway.
- Humidification of indoor air for preventing or reducing dryness symptoms or upper respiratory tract infections in educational settings and at the workplace
- Mercury biomonitoring in urine and hair of women and children in a region with partly elevated mercury levels in soil in Switzerland
- Validation of two activity monitors (ActiGraph, activPAL) in the measurements of posture and motion in white-collar occupations
