I grew up in Rome and the Swiss alps (Engadin). I studied medicine in Basel, nutrition
at the ETH in Zurich and public health at the Swiss School of Public Health (SSPH+). The habilitation and a specialization in preventive medicine (FMH) followed. I worked
for various NGOs until 2003. During the following 4 years I was working at the university and the university hospital of Lausanne as physician, clinical and epidemiological scientist. Since 2006, I am working at the EBPI. My fields of interest are nutrition, metabolism, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer, environmental health determinants and health inequalities. Besides, I am working as lecturer and
scientist at the University of Applied Sciences (BFH).
