Publication: Can air pollution negate the health benefits of cycling and walking?

EBPI Researchers, Sonja Kahlmeier and Thomas Götschi, contributed to a recent publication in the Journal of Prevention Medicine titled "Can air pollution negate
the health benefits of cycling and walking?” The authors compared the risk-benefit trade-off of physical activity and air pollution for active travel (walking, biking). They found that in almost all cases the benefits of physical activity outweigh the risk of air pollution exposure. This research received widespread media coverage including the BBC online, Guardian, and The Washington Post.
