EBPI researchers successfully published an important paper about a COPD self-management intervention

The EBPI scientists Claudia Steurer-Stey, Kaba dalla Lana, Julia Braun and Milo Puhan were rewarded for their hard work in COPD research by a publication in
the renowned European Respiratory Journal. In their study, COPD patients who participated in the “Living well with COPD” (LWWCOPD) self-management intervention were compared with patients from the primary care COPD Cohort
ICE COLD ERIC, who did not receive the self-management intervention. Claudia and colleagues found out that the correctly self-managed COPD coaching helped patients to increase their quality of life and further reduced the rates of exacerbations. Based on this and another study in the Western part of Switzerland, a project coordinated
by the Swiss Lung League is currently underway that implements the “Living well with COPD”  program in six Swiss cantons with the EBPI team conducting the accompanying implementation science.

Congratulations to this successful and important publication,
Claudia, Kaba, Julia, and Milo.
