Professor Held joins European Commission project to fight superbugs

In June, Professor Leonard Held joined an internal, multidisciplinary consortium of researchers working to treat antimicrobial resistant infections. The € 250,000,000 project, known as COMBACTE, is funded by through the Innovative Medicines Initiative, a partnership between the European Union and the European pharmaceutical industry which promotes public/private collaborations to speed up the development of, and patient access to, new medicines for which there is an urgent, unmet need. Professor Held’s team brings its expertise in the application of Bayesian statistical models to designing clinical trails within the project. For more information, see the COMBACTE website.
