Free Public Access to Cochrane Library in Switzerland

Swiss residents can now find evidence-based answers to their medical questions
in the online Cochrane Library. Both physicians in private practice and lay people may access this resource at no charge thanks to a collaboration between the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences, the Federal Office of Public Health, and university libraries. Cochrane is an independent network of researchers around the world
(over 37,000 contributors from 130 countries) who collect and summarize high-quality information that helps citizens make informed choices about their health.  In addition
to scientific reviews written for medical professionals, plain language summaries in several languages are produced for private citizens.

The EBPI maintains active roles in the Cochrane network. In Spring 2015, Prof. Milo Puhan and PD Dr. Margot Mütsch worked together with collaborators from Lausanne, Germany, and Austria to establish Cochrane Public Health Europe - a satellite
of main group based in Australia.  Prof. Milo Puhan is on the editorial board of Cochrane Airways, which produces systematic reviews on asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, and other lung diseases.
